My Bible is one of my most prized possessions. If my house was on fire, this would be the first thing I would grab along with my Granny’s engagement ring.
I got this during my senior year of college and it’s the first leather Bible I ever owned. It still has my maiden name engraved on the bottom right corner in gold. It has been all around the world with me, through good and bad times. There are pages in Psalms of tiny little water damaged circles from my tears. There are notes inside with references of trips I've taken, sermons that hit home, and words that bring comfort and peace in times of sorrow. And if I ever lose my ability too see, I think I could find the book of Romans without my sense of sight.
This book is worn and falling apart, but it brings me peace because of the message inside and the memories I have documented throughout my journey.
Do you have a similar Bible? One that you will carry with you no matter how crinkled the pages? A family Bible that is displayed in your home? I’d love to hear your story.
